Two handwritten and signed letters and dated 15 Oct. 1886 and 12 Sept. 1894. The earlier missive is addressed to Ben W. Austin and expresses Beers' gratitude for being elected a member of th Northwestern Literary and Historical Society. The letter of 1894 is addressed to Barton O. Aylesworth and gives information on where biographical materials may be found on him. Also included is a clipping from a magazine which presents a brief biography of Beers. With the collection is the envelope in which the letter to Aylesworth was sent.
